Our Blue Economy specialist is Adam Brancher. A Principal Marine Surveyor, founder of Southern Ocean Carbon Company and Kedge Pty Ltd, Adam now heads the Blue Economy Division of ADEC Innovations. He has successfully founded and managed Kedge Pty. Ltd.,(now ADEC Kedge), a leading marine surveyor and assurance company in Australia and Southern Ocean Carbon Company, a Tasmanian company focusing on seaweed aquaculture. He leverages his expertise in marine operations, maritime assurance and acquaculture to help businesses contribute meaningfully to the fight against climate change through sustainable maritime stewardship.

CIFAL Lebanon is excited to announce its inaugural webinar "The Blue Economy: Pathways to Prosperity in South-West Asia". This event is part of a series of webinars that will explore sustainability initiatives in support of various SDGs. 

This two day webinar aims to provide participants with basic knowledge on the Blue Economy, how this aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the role of South-West Asia Blue Economy in the global context.

Our Blue Economy specialist is Adam Brancher. A Principal Marine Surveyor, founder of Southern Ocean Carbon Company and Kedge Pty Ltd, Adam now heads the Blue Economy Division of ADEC Innovations.

With this webinar participants will:

  • Understand the basic concepts on the Blue Economy and its components.

  • Recognize the alignment of the Blue Economy with the SDGs.

  • Identify challenges and opportunities in Blue Economy

  • Examine real world applications through case studies and identify best practices and successful outcomes.

Government leaders, maritime industry professionals, researchers, environmental organizations, and anyone interested in sustainable ocean development are invited to join.

Certification Policy: Participants of this webinar will be eligible for a certificate based on the conditions below:

  • For a Certificate of Participation, participants must have completed the first day (August 29, 2024) of the program and completed the short assessment. This certificate will include a signature from CIFAL Lebanon.

  • For a Certificate of Completion, participants must have completed both days (August 29, 2024 and August 30, 2024) of the program and completed the short assessment. This certificate will include signatures from CIFAL Lebanon, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
